
An arrest warrant has been issued for one individual, and another person has been summoned for additional questioning in the case involving a shooting and pipe bomb attack on the Buke Sami checkpoint in Narathiwat province, resulting in five soldiers killed.
Progress in the case involving attackers using firearms and throwing an improvised explosive device (pipe bomb) at the 4509 Ranger Company of the 45th Ranger Task Force while on duty securing the Buke Sami checkpoint at Ban Talat Tanyongmas, Village No. 7, Tanyongmas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District, Narathiwat province, on 22 July 2026 at approximately 18:45. The incident caused the deaths of five ranger soldiers and injuries to six civilians. Authorities have been intensively investigating and gathering evidence, leading to significant legal developments.
Most recently (25 July 2026), the court approved an arrest warrant issued on 22 July 2026 for one suspect: Mr. Asisan, a resident of Chanae Subdistrict, Chanae District, Narathiwat province. He has a prior arrest warrant, number 592/2025, issued by Su-ngai Kolok Police Station related to a shooting and bombing incident in the Su-ngai Kolok municipality area, Su-ngai Kolok District, Narathiwat, on 8 March 2025.
Additionally, authorities have summoned another related individual, Mr. Mahamasri, a resident of Sai Buri District, Pattani province, to the interrogation center of Ranger Task Force 46 in Narathiwat province for questioning to support the investigation and extend the inquiry according to legal procedures.
