At 19:00 on 29 September 2026, reporters stated that Mr. Worachai Sutawan, the village headman of Village 3, Kukkak Subdistrict, assigned the assistant village headman to inspect the Fresh Market at the Bus Terminal (Khao Lak-Bang Niang). Due to heavy rain and strong winds, the market's roof was damaged, including tiles falling off, causing difficulties for shop owners. Initially, assistance was provided to move belongings and record details of those affected to prepare a report for further action.
Mr. Boonlom Chliawsiriwong of Village 3, Kukkak Subdistrict, Takua Pa District, Phang Nga Province, shared that while he was opening his shop across from Bang Niang Fresh Market, a sudden strong gust of wind occurred briefly at the start of the rain. He quickly held onto a tarp to prevent damage before the heavy rain continued for about half an hour.
Currently, local officials are surveying the damage and collecting information on those affected to coordinate with relevant agencies for further assistance. They also urge residents and business operators in the area to closely monitor weather conditions and exercise extra caution during heavy rain and strong winds.
