The Royal Thai Navy is mobilizing all available forces to assist with flooding in the south. It announced that HTMS Chakri Naruebet will depart from Sattahip Naval Base today, converted into a floating airbase, kitchen, and hospital. The Navy affirms it will stand alongside the people until the situation stabilizes.
On 25 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Rear Admiral Parach Rattanachaiphan, the Navy spokesperson, explained that The Royal Thai Navy has deployed large warships, aircraft, and special operations units to assist southern communities severely affected by flooding. HTMS Chakri Naruebet will depart from Sattahip Naval Base today, carrying two helicopters, personnel, medical teams, field kitchen staff, rescue equipment, relief supplies, food, and drinking water.
, HTMS Chakri Naruebet is capable of serving as a floating airbase for helicopter and drone operations. It can also function as a floating kitchen, producing about 3,000 cooked meals daily to support airborne aid delivery to affected areas. Additionally, a medical team aboard enables it to operate as a floating hospital if necessary. Meanwhile, the Navy has prepared HTMS Chang and HTMS Ang Thong as reinforcements for a potential second wave of assistance if additional support is required.
Due to the urgent need to assist citizens, the Navy has dispatched special operations teams with 14 rubber boats from the Naval Special Warfare Command, along with personnel, to rescue people trapped by strong currents. All will travel today aboard Air Force transport planes.
The Navy spokesperson concluded that the Navy will continue to perform its duties to the fullest during this crisis affecting the people and will remain steadfast in support until the situation improves.
