Prime Minister Declares State of Emergency in Songkhla Province, Appoints Supreme Commander as Head of Flood Response Team

The Prime Minister has declared a state of emergency in Songkhla Province and appointed the Supreme Commander as the head responsible for managing the major flood crisis.


On 25 Nov 2025, the Prime Minister signed a declaration of a state of emergency in Songkhla Province, stating that a public disaster has occurred due to heavy rains causing unprecedented severe flooding in the area. This has disrupted normal life and endangered the lives of citizens, while causing widespread damage to both public and private property. Urgent measures are therefore necessary to ensure public safety, maintain order, and address and repair the damages caused.

This public disaster is severe and sudden, and the situation cannot be managed through normal administrative processes.

Under the authority granted by Sections 5 and 7, paragraphs three and four, of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration, B.E. 2548 (2005), and with the approval of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister has declared a state of emergency in Songkhla Province and appointed the Supreme Commander as the official responsible under the law and as the head of emergency management. This declaration is effective from 25 Nov 2025 until 25 Feb 2026.
