
The Cabinet has approved the transfer of nine ambassador posts, with Nikorndej Plangkur moving up to become Thailand's Ambassador to Paris.
On 25 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Airin Panrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, announced that the Cabinet approved the Foreign Minister's proposal to appoint nine senior officials to fill vacancies and rotate positions. Notably, Mr. Nikorndej Plangkur, Director-General of the Department of Information and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, will assume the post of Ambassador to Paris, France.
Ms. Krongkanit Rakcharoen, Director-General of the European Affairs Department, will serve as Ambassador to Vientiane. Mr. Pongprat Makjaeng, Ambassador-at-Large, will be Ambassador to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Mr. Damp Boontham, Ambassador in Riyadh, will transfer to be Ambassador to Ottawa, Canada. Mr. Akrapong Chalermnon, Consul-General in Osaka, will become Ambassador to Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei.
These appointments take effect upon the royal decree granting approval and after receiving consent from the host countries.
