Juree, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, Proposes Pairing Mixed Volunteer Teams Using Local Guides to Evacuate Flood Victims

Juree, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party, proposes a pairing plan for mixed volunteer teams using local guides to lead rescue volunteers from other areas in joint operations to evacuate flood victims to safe shelters.

At 16:30 on 25 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Juree Numkaew, Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party (Democrat Party), a native of Songkhla closely monitoring the flooding in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, and providing assistance to flood victims there since the early days, reported on the latest situation. Although numerous rescue boats and volunteer teams from various provinces have mobilized in large numbers, a key problem remains: accessing the exact locations of those in need. Rescue teams from outside areas such as Bangkok, Surat Thani, and Phuket lack local familiarity. Even though residents of Hat Yai have sent tens of thousands of coordinates requesting help, including cases of patients and stranded people needing urgent aid, rescue teams cannot visualize the roads in Hat Yai District, deep alleys, or key points like Chok Saman, Sai Klang Zone 8, behind Big C Extra, or Hua Rua. This makes locating the reported coordinates nearly impossible, so assistance can only be provided by chance when encountered.

He suggests pairing locals with outside volunteers

The Deputy Leader of the Democrat Party further proposed a simple yet immediately effective solution: pairing local volunteers with those from outside the area to work together. This would allow them to use vehicles to reach the exact coordinates where people have requested assistance. Assigning locals to this role as “Local Navigators” will be crucial for guiding rescue boats quickly and precisely to those needing help at the reported locations, preventing loss of life and property that might occur when areas are inaccessible.
