Suchat Mobilizes Rescue Teams to Combat Southern Floods Helicopter Delivers Generator to Hat Yai Hospital

The Deputy Prime Minister has mobilized 15 water rescue teams with 25 boats to combat the southern floods around the clock, revealing that a helicopter has transported a generator to assist Hat Yai Hospital.

On 26 Nov 2025 GMT+7, Suchat Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, announced the mobilization of resources to aid flood victims in southern Thailand. He affirmed the government's highest priority is the safety of the public. He ordered the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources to deploy 15 water support teams from 13 agencies, covering the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea areas, with 74 expert personnel. The equipment includes 3 speedboats, 12 rubber boats, and 10 flat-bottom boats, totaling 25 vessels, along with Ministry helicopters to assist evacuation in hard-to-reach areas.

Suchat emphasized that all personnel under the Ministry are ready to operate 24 hours a day to provide swift and comprehensive aid. The urgent task is to restore power at Hat Yai Hospital. The Ministry's helicopter has been continuously supporting the Ministry of Public Health, especially in transporting critical patients and newborns from Hat Yai Hospital to Songklanagarind Hospital after Hat Yai Hospital experienced severe flooding and a power outage.

Recently, the Ministry of Public Health requested further assistance to have the helicopter transport a generator and electricians from the Navy to Hat Yai Hospital to carry out repairs. This operation has been completed, and power restoration at the hospital is expected soon. The Ministry's helicopter will continue supporting rescue operations until the situation improves.
