Royal Decree Summons Extraordinary Parliamentary Session on 10 Dec, Before Second Regular Session

A royal decree summons an extraordinary parliamentary session on 10 December and another decree calls the second regular annual parliamentary session on 12 December 2025 GMT+7.


On 28 November 2025 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published a royal command.Royal Decree Summoning the Extraordinary Session of Parliament, B.E. 2568 (2025 CE).His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun issued this on 27 November 2025 GMT+7, the tenth year of the current reign.

His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. The King graciously commanded that, due to necessity for state benefit, it is appropriate to summon Parliament for an extraordinary session. Exercising powers under Sections 122 and 175 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, the King has graciously issued the royal decree calling the extraordinary parliamentary session starting 10 December 2025 GMT+7.

The decree explains that since the first regular annual parliamentary session was adjourned on 31 October 2025 GMT+7 under a closing decree, but due to necessity for state benefit under Section 122 of the Constitution, it is appropriate to summon an extraordinary session, thus this royal decree was issued.

The reason for this decree is that after summoning the extraordinary session starting 10 December 2025 GMT+7, it is now appropriate to close this session, hence this decree was necessary.

The reason for this decree is that Section 121 of the Constitution mandates two regular parliamentary sessions annually, each lasting 120 days, with the start date of the second session set by the House of Representatives as 12 December. Therefore, it is appropriate to summon the second regular annual parliamentary session for 2025, necessitating this royal decree.
