Peoples Party Nominates Palm to Contest Bangkok MP Seat Replacing Ice Rakchanok

The People's Party has introduced Chonlatat Koykul, known as “Palm,” to contest the MP seat for the Bang Bon–Chom Thong–Nong Khaem district, replacing “Ice” Rakchanok Srinok, who will be placed on the party list.


On 1 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters reported that the People's Party (PChon.) introduced Ms. Chonlatat Koykul, or “Palm,” as the prospective candidate for Bangkok MP, Constituency 28 covering Bang Bon–Chom Thong–Nong Khaem, replacing the previous candidate.Namely “Ice”,Ms. Rakchanok Srinok, Bangkok MP, is highly likely to be promoted to run on the party list due to her notable work. Additionally, this is a backup plan if Ms. Rakchanok, who faces multiple legal cases, encounters any political setbacks in the future; in such a case, the next candidate on the party list can be promoted.to replace herwithout the need for a by-election.

Regarding Ms. Chonlatat, or “Palm,” she has media experience, such as hosting programs onThaiPBS,among others. She holds a bachelor's degree in Arts with a major in English and a minor in Communication Arts from Chulalongkorn University. She completed the Women's Empowerment and Political Leadership Academy (WEPLA) and a legal and justice process course on domestic and intimate partner violence (DV Learning by TIJ). Her political background includes being a coordinator for the People's Senators group in 2024, representing the group in filing a petition to the Central Administrative Court to abolish the old candidate introduction regulation of the Election Commission, and serving on the Safe Zone working group.ThailandShe is also active in civil society, advocating for reforms in psychology consultation ethics and law, and proposing policies to create sustainable safe mental health spaces.
