Lt. Gen. Pradorn Highlights Four Missions to Solve Border Security Issues, Confident Thai Sang Thai Party Can Act Immediately if in Government

Lt. Gen. Pradorn highlights four missions to solve Thai-Cambodian border security issues, stressing the tense situation and expressing confidence that if the Thai Sang Thai Party is in government, solutions can be implemented immediately.

2 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Lt. Gen. Pradorn Patanathabut, Chair of Security Strategy for the Thai Sang Thai Party (TST). He shared his views on security and political roles alongside the Thai Sang Thai Party, saying that combining political will with accumulated security knowledge will enhance democracy’s effectiveness and address the country's security challenges. The 'Hello Thai People' group aims to push policies into practical implementation on the ground. Current political opportunities allow participation with the Thai Sang Thai Party. He intends to apply his experience as former Secretary-General of the National Security Council (NSC) because the country is now facing a tense security situation lasting months, including the Thai-Cambodian dispute, international scammer problems, and disasters like flooding in Hat Yai, all requiring systematic solutions.

If the Thai Sang Thai Party has the chance to form a government, it can immediately address these problems, especially the strategy to “Establish Border Security,” which includes four missions: organizing border intelligence systems; arranging forces and patrols to handle emergencies; structuring border security to control and suppress transnational crime, including stateless persons; and fostering good relations with neighboring countries. These plans have clear responsible bodies, including the NSC, military agencies, and other security units, but so far have not been utilized, even though they could be implemented within one week after taking office.

At the same time, Lt. Gen. Pradorn affirmed that the Thai Sang Thai Party plans to make security issues a key policy area, particularly the Thai-Cambodian border dispute and southern border problems, focusing on peaceful methods that emphasize dialogue and creating safe zones as the core of sustainable solutions. He has discussed with Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, the party leader, about aligning policy adjustments between the 'Hello Thai People' group and the Thai Sang Thai Party. He will focus on security while the party manages other policy aspects to produce joint policies that can be effectively implemented if the party forms the government.

Lt. Gen. Pradorn concluded by stating, if the Thai Sang Thai Party gains state power, structural changes in security will be seen because he believes policy and operational sides can work in harmony—an issue previous governments failed to resolve—resulting in delayed and ineffective security problem-solving that does not meet public needs. .
