Cancellation of the Social Security Calendar for 2026 Due to Procurement Delay from Appeal Process

The Secretary-General of the Social Security Office explained the cancellation of the 2026 Social Security calendar, citing procurement delays caused by an appeal of the bidding results, which prevented timely production.

On 2 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Kanjana Phulkaew, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, explained the reason for cancelling the 2026 Social Security calendar production. She said the delay was due to procurement processes held up by an appeal against the bidding results, making it impossible to produce and deliver the calendar by December 2025 GMT+7. Continuing the process could cause losses and would not be a good use of budget, so cancellation was necessary.

The Secretary-General revealed that the project’s bidding was conducted via electronic bidding (e-bidding) under the 2017 Public Procurement and Supplies Management Act, ensuring full transparency and auditability. Subsequently, an appeal against the winning bid was filed, requiring the Social Security Office to submit the case to the Central Accounting Department’s appeals committee as mandated by law, which took some time. Although the committee found the appeal unsubstantiated and allowed the Social Security Office to proceed, the elapsed time made it impossible to produce the calendar within the timeframe specified in the Terms of Reference (TOR), resulting in the cancellation of the 2026 calendar production.

Ms. Kanjana emphasized that although the calendar will not be produced this year, the Social Security Office will continue to disseminate information, news, and benefits to employers, employees, insured persons, and the public through all channels continuously, ensuring that they receive complete, accurate, and timely information.
