Pitipong Reveals Kanwee Plans to Establish New Party, Insists He Was Warned to Seek Party Consensus on Three Key Issues

Pitipong revealed that Kanwee is preparing to form a new party. He emphasized that he had warned Kanwee to seek party approval before making decisions on three important issues, but this advice was ignored. He expressed confidence that the Puentham Party can survive based on its clear stance and ideology.

On 3 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Pitipong Temcharoen, acting leader of the Puentham Party, spoke about the party executive committee's decision to remove Mr. Kanwee Suebsang, a party list MP, from the position of party secretary-general. The reason aligned with the party’s statement: Kanwee voted to support Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as prime minister without informing or seeking approval from the party executive committee beforehand. Although Kanwee had called Pitipong while he was abroad to inform him of this decision, Pitipong had already told him that informing after the fact was insufficient; party approval must be sought first, or at least the decision should be brought back to the committee for retroactive approval. Kanwee did not follow this process.

Pitipong also said that, as party leader, he must take responsibility by resigning from his position to allow for a new executive committee selection. He is unsure whether Kanwee will continue his political career with the Puentham Party; that depends on Kanwee’s own choice. The party removed Kanwee only from the secretary-general post, not from his MP seat. If Kanwee wants to start a new political party and become its leader, he must resign as an MP. “The future is uncertain. I do not want to say whether he will stay with the Puentham Party, but I have heard that he may form his own political party,” Pitipong said. Pitipong added that the Puentham Party will now accelerate preparations for election mode, with teams focused on economics, social issues, and data expertise, aiming to present the party’s policies and positions to the public.

He further stated that, although he does not currently hold an MP seat in the House of Representatives, he has continued active political work, assisting local communities. Recently, he proposed solutions to the flooding problems in Hatyai by submitting recommendations through the Government House complaint center on 2 Dec 2025 GMT+7. The proposal includes three approaches: 1. Short-term measures with a dedicated committee to manage damage in Songkhla province; 2. Developing a plan to address Hatyai’s drainage system; and 3. Proposing sustainable and systematic flood management solutions for southern Thailand.
