Electricity Bill Waived for November 2025 for Flood Victims in Songkhla Additional 556 Million Baht Compensation Transferred Today

“Pradorn” revealed that over four days, compensation payments for flood victims have successfully reached 548,126 households, with an additional 566 million baht transferred today. The government spokesperson reaffirmed the waiver of electricity bills for November 2025 in Songkhla to ease the hardships caused by flooding.

On 5 December 2025, Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, stated that after the emergency situation was lifted in Songkhla Province, ongoing assistance and coordination for flood victims will be managed by the Forward Thai Military Disaster Relief Center (ศบภ.ทท.ส่วนหน้า). This center will direct, control, and integrate operations with military units and relevant government agencies in the area to ensure prompt and effective aid.

. Regarding the progress of compensation transfers for flood victims, data from the Government Savings Bank between 1-4 December 2025 shows that payments have been successfully made to 548,126 households, totaling 4,933,134,000 baht. Today (5 December), the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has submitted an additional list of 62,935 eligible households for compensation amounting to 566,415,000 baht, all within Songkhla Province.

Mr. Pradorn added that the Prime Minister expresses gratitude to all parties involved—including officials, local administrators, military units, volunteers, and citizens—who have tirelessly worked together to restore the area. He conveyed a message to the public that the government will continue to push forward with community and economic recovery efforts and to provide relief to restore normal conditions as swiftly as possible.

Meanwhile, Mr. Siripong Angkasakornkiat, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, reported that flood relief and recovery in Songkhla have made significant progress. Over 90% of residents have returned home. Efforts include city cleaning, waste management, and provision of essential goods, while public utilities are now fully operational. Water supply systems have resumed 100% service to the public. The Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has restored electricity to all key government offices and hospitals. However, some residential homes still lack power. To mitigate this, PEA has installed temporary Power Kit main switch panels to provide basic electricity access initially. Repair work will be integrated and accelerated to resolve remaining issues promptly.

Additionally, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stated that although the emergency declaration in Songkhla has been lifted, recovery and compensation efforts continue as before. Regarding electricity bill relief, flood victims in Songkhla, designated as a disaster area, will have their electricity charges for November 2025 waived for residential properties. This affects 451,211 households, amounting to 420 million baht (including Ft and VAT). The electricity costs for this period will be covered by the PEA's own revenue.
