Deputy Prime Minister Thammanat, overseeing the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, inspected the readiness of the royal route for the 33rd SEA Games opening ceremony, stressing strict security measures and confidence in showcasing Thailand’s hosting capabilities to ASEAN.


On 6 December 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Thammanat Prompao, in his role supervising the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, led a team to inspect and monitor the readiness and orderliness of the royal route for the 33rd SEA Games opening ceremony. The event will be held at Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok, on 9 December. The inspection aimed to assess measures covering traffic management, security, and the orderly condition of the area to meet international standards for this major ASEAN regional sports event.

Deputy Prime Minister Thammanat checked key points along the royal route, including the reception areas, stadium entrances and exits, security systems inside and outside the venue, and surrounding areas expected to attract large crowds. Joining him were Minister of Tourism and Sports Atthakorn Siriwatcharakorn, Permanent Secretary Natriya Taweewong, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand Prodpran Samanmit overseeing professional sports and boxing, along with executives, staff, and relevant agencies.

Additionally, Deputy Prime Minister Thammanat emphasized that the SEA Games opening ceremony is a crucial national image. As host, Thailand must prepare every detail perfectly, including security, welcoming athletes and delegates from each nation, and facilitating the public and spectators from home and abroad. He urged strict coordination among all agencies to ensure the royal procession proceeds smoothly and the opening ceremony proudly reflects Thai pride to the international audience. .
