Prime Minister Holds Meeting with Seven Border Province Governors, Emphasizes Full Care for Citizens

The Prime Minister convened a meeting with seven governors from border provinces, emphasizing full care for citizens along with timely evacuation plans following the outbreak of clashes between Thai and Cambodian soldiers.


On 8 Dec 2025 GMT+7, reporters at the Government House reported that in the morning at the Thai Koo Fah Building, Government House, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, together with Ms. Traisuli Traisornkul, Secretary to the Prime Minister, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, the Director-General of the Department of Provincial Administration, and other Ministry of Interior officials, held a meeting via video conference with governors of seven border provinces—Trat, Chanthaburi, Sa Kaeo, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani. The meeting monitored the situation in the area and the evacuation and assistance efforts for citizens following clashes between Thailand and Cambodia. The Prime Minister instructed full care for the people and oversight of evacuation plans.

The Prime Minister ordered the protection of citizens’ safety and their evacuation to safe locations, insisting on the best care for people in evacuation centers. He also emphasized strict management of budget disbursement for citizen support to ensure there are no shortages of food, medicine, or essential supplies.

He further stressed that all units should cooperate in safeguarding rear areas alongside the Volunteer Defense Corps and local defense forces, enabling frontline personnel to operate without concern for their rear positions. Additionally, the Prime Minister directed preparations for hospitals to care for those injured in the fighting, ensuring blood supplies are ready, and organizing mobile medical units to assist citizens in evacuation centers.
