
The Parliament held a merit-making ceremony to pay royal homage to King Prajadhipok (Rama VII), while political parties lined up to lay floral wreaths in tribute on Constitution Day.
On 10 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at the Parliament building, Mr. Mongkol Surasajja, President of the Senate and Deputy Speaker of Parliament, presided over the merit-making ceremony to pay royal homage to King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) in observance of the Thai Constitution Day celebration. Ten senior monks were invited from
Wat Mahathat Yuwaratrangsarit Rajaworamahawihan in Bangkok. Attendees included Mr. Chaiya Promma, First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives; Mr. Chalard Khamchuang, Second Deputy Speaker; members of Parliament; executives of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives; executives of the Secretariat of the Senate; executives of the King Prajadhipok's Institute; and staff from the secretariats of both houses.
At the royal statue of King Prajadhipok at the Parliament Museum, numerous political parties came to lay floral wreaths in tribute. For example, on behalf of the “House of Representatives,” Mr. Chaiya Promma, First Deputy Speaker; Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, Opposition Leader in the House; and Mr. Chalard Khamchuang, Second Deputy Speaker,

on behalf of the “King Prajadhipok's Institute,” Associate Professor Dr. Issara Sereewatthanawut, Secretary-General of the Institute,
on behalf of the “Democrat Party,” Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, party leader, and Mr. Chuan Leekpai, Democrat MP; on behalf of the “Palang Pracharath Party,” Mr. Kraset Trakulpornpong, Palang Pracharath MP, accompanied by Police Lieutenant General Piya Tawichai, party executive,
