The Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC) visited Yala to inspect the registration for Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) elections, emphasizing that officials must conduct the election honestly and fairly on 11 Jan 2026 despite flood conditions.
On 11 Dec 2025, Mr. Saeng Bunmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission (EC), along with his team traveled to Yala province to inspect and receive a summary report on the election of members of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Council (SAO Council) and the SAO Chief Executive.
Mr. Saeng conveyed the EC's concern to officials working in areas affected by flooding and listened to issues reported by Mr. Piyawut Khiewkham, Yala Provincial Election Director, and Mr. Anukul Srichanngam, Director of the Pattani EC Office, at the EC's Yala provincial office.
Afterward, the EC Secretary-General visited the SAO Prorn registration site in Mueang Yala district to encourage officials working under flood conditions, stressing that the registration process must be orderly, honest, and fair, with priority given to the safety of both the public and officials.
In Yala province, there are 47 SAO elections scheduled, all to be held on Sunday, 11 January 2026.
