The Deputy Defense Minister led a delegation to encourage residents along the border in Surin Province, urging them to trust the government and military to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. He asked the public not to be alarmed by rumors and to rely solely on official information.
On 11 December 2025, Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Deputy Minister of Defense, traveled to Surin Province to visit and encourage soldiers injured in the Thai-Cambodian border situation who were receiving treatment at Prasat Hospital in Prasat District. The Deputy Defense Minister inquired about their injuries and treatment, offered encouragement, and praised their sacrifice in steadfastly protecting the nation's sovereignty.
He urged the public to listen only to official sources.
Lieutenant General Adul addressed rumors that Cambodia might be moving long-range PHL-03 rocket launchers close to the border, stating that people should obtain information only from the 2nd Army Area or the Royal Thai Army as official channels. If there is any troop movement, security agencies will make an official statement to prevent public alarm from false or inaccurate information.
Regarding Cambodia's claims that Thailand may invade a weaker country and attempts to involve third countries, Lieutenant General Adul emphasized that Thailand is sovereign and does not pay attention to distorted accusations from Cambodia. He reaffirmed that the Thai military's clear stance is to defend the country, not to provoke conflict.
He reiterated the importance of listening to local leaders.
Lieutenant General Adul also mentioned discussions about the readiness of frontline troops, who maintain good morale and receive close support from their commanders. Meanwhile, the border evacuation centers are being managed systematically, with full cooperation among district chiefs, provincial governors, and health officials, all working diligently to ensure the highest safety for residents. Local people receive information only through their community leaders to minimize confusion caused by fake news.
Additionally, Lieutenant General Adul visited residents at the evacuation center inside Surindra Rajabhat University, accompanied by Captain Sombat Banchamek, also known as Buakaw. They offered encouragement and participated in activities with children. The Deputy Defense Minister spoke closely with villagers, assuring them that all parties will perform their duties to the utmost. He stressed that the government, military, and all sectors will fully care for the people.
