Royal Decree Ends Extraordinary Parliamentary Session 2025 After Failed Constitutional Amendment Talks

The Prime Minister acknowledged the royal command to close the extraordinary parliamentary session after discussions on the constitution failed to reach a resolution.

Later, at 23:15 on 11 December, after the parliamentary session concluded discussions on holding a referendum regarding constitutional amendments, the presiding officer instructed the Secretary-General of the House of Representatives to read the royal decree closing the extraordinary session. The decree stated that His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun graciously commanded the announcement.

Since the royal decree convening the extraordinary parliamentary session of 2025 was issued beginning 10 December 2025, it is now appropriate to close the session. Under the authority of Sections 122 and 175 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, His Majesty has graciously commanded the issuance of a royal decree to close the extraordinary session effective 12 December 2025. The royal command was acknowledged by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
