Ekniti Explains Awaiting Bowornsak and Election Commission Before Economic Policy Moves and US Tax Talks

Ekniti points out that advancing economic policies, Phase 2 of the Half-Half Plus program, and US tax negotiations after the dissolution of parliament must wait for statements from Bowornsak and the Election Commission. He smiled but did not answer when asked if he had joined the Bhumjaithai Party.

At 08:30 on 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nithitandhapaprasert gave an interview at the Government House regarding economic policy actions following the announcement of the dissolution of the House of Representatives, saying they need to wait for Deputy Prime Minister for Legal Affairs Bowornsak Uwanno and the Election Commission to comment.

A reporter then asked about the Phase 2 of the Half-Half Plus program. Whether it must be stopped, Ekniti replied that they have to wait for Bowornsak and discuss with the Election Commission. When further asked about the US tax negotiations going forward, Ekniti said likewise, everything must wait. When asked if the Prime Minister had called a special Cabinet meeting yet, Ekniti briefly answered no.

However, when asked if he had registered as a member of the Bhumjaithai Party so far, Ekniti smiled but did not answer the question.
