Kanwee Resigns After Losing MP Status, Apologizes for Misjudging Situation, Voted for Anutin

Kanwee submits his resignation from the Fair Party after losing his status as a Member of Parliament. He sincerely apologizes for severely misjudging the situation after being among those who voted for Anutin as Prime Minister. He hopes the public will give him a chance to return to serve in parliament.

At 10:27 a.m. on 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7 Mr. Kanwee Suebsaeng, party-list Member of Parliament for the Fair Party, posted a message via an applicationX (Twitter)addressing all respected fellow citizens, he said, “I was one of the MPs who voted for Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister. Today, I must frankly admit that I seriously misjudged the situation. Although my single vote was not enough to change the previous outcome, this lesson has painfully taught me that no matter how polished the explanations are, ultimately the people must pay the price.” He explained that the price is the lives and livelihoods of people caused by failed management of the flood crisis, lives lost amid escalating border tensions, and the continued oppression of Thai society by the old constitution and entrenched power structures.

Kanwee went on to say he takes responsibility as someone who was once part of the opposition party system that calculated politics hoping to preserve ideological purity, but ended up allowing a government that does not prioritize the people to remain in power. If the public still trusts him to enter parliament next time, he will refuse to remain comfortably in the opposition while allowing the administration to dictate citizens’ lives. No matter how difficult forming a government is, or the negotiations, vested interests, or pressures involved, he will do everything possible to ensure the voices of the people who support him are represented in the executive branch—not for power, but so someone courageous stands at the decision-making table to determine what impacts people’s lives and what destroys the country’s future.

“I don’t know if these words will please everyone, but I choose to be honest with the lesson I have learned: if we refuse to take responsibility in the executive branch, we let others gamble with the lives of the people. I understand it may be too soon to ask for a new chance, but I must face the facts and accept my mistake to ask for another opportunity from the people. If one day you deem it right to let me serve in parliament again, I promise I will no longer use ideology or political strategy as an excuse to avoid executive responsibility, and I will do everything to truly be a representative of the people. I sincerely apologize.”

The reporter noted that in the post, Kanwee also shared a photo of the resignation letter from the Fair Party, written at the Election Commission office and dated 12 Dec 2025. The post concluded with the signature, “Kanwee Suebsaeng, former Member of Parliament”
