Four former northeastern MPs from the Pheu Thai Party have resigned to join the Bhumjaithai Party, announcing plans to contest elections in their original constituencies. They said the conflict situation in the northeast is being monitored and the Election Commission will handle the matter.
On 12 December 2025 GMT+7, Dr. Pumin Leethiraprasert, former MP for Sisaket from the Pheu Thai Party, posted a photo of his resignation letter along with those of three other former MPs: Kitti Somsap (Roi Et), Prasert Boonruang (Kalasin), and Nuchanat Charuwongsathien (Sisaket). He stated that all four have completed application forms and plan to submit their membership to the Bhumjaithai Party on 13 December. Each confirmed their intention to run in their original electoral districts.
Dr. Pumin spoke about the conflict situation along the Sisaket provincial border, which might affect election arrangements, saying that this matter falls under the authority of the Election Commission, which will consider and manage the process accordingly.
