The government is accelerating recovery efforts as floodwaters recede, while three southern provinces remain severely affected, with Songkhla hardest hit. Authorities have issued warnings for eight provinces to remain on alert for heavy rain from today until 16 December.
On 12 December 2025 GMT+7, Ms. Airin Punrit, Deputy Spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, updated on the flood situation in the southern region, stating that the government is actively coordinating aid to restore affected areas and continuously care for public health.
The Deputy Government Spokesperson reported that the latest data still show flooding in three provinces—Surat Thani, Trang, and Songkhla—covering 8 districts and 57 subdistricts, affecting over 48,978 households. Songkhla remains the most severely impacted, with 44,798 households affected, despite most water levels trending downward.
Ms. Airin added that residents in the south should remain vigilant for flash floods and rapid runoff during 11–16 December 2025 GMT+7, as forecast by the Meteorological Department, which predicts heavy to very heavy rain in several areas, especially Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat. People can follow alerts via the “THAI DISASTER ALERT” application or report incidents and request help through the 24-hour emergency hotline 1784.
