
Anutin spoke with military leaders to urgently prepare information for discussion with Donald Trump, stressing that it is merely a situation briefing, not negotiations, and reaffirmed that the government fully supports the military despite parliament dissolution.
On 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul met with Defence Minister Gen. Natthaphon Nakpanich and the military commanders to prepare information ahead of discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the Thailand-Cambodia border situation.
After the meeting, Anutin said he received updates on progress from the military and confirmed that despite the parliament dissolution, the government continues its administrative duties and supports the military in defending sovereignty to ensure maximum effectiveness.
The Prime Minister added that during tonight’s discussion with the U.S. President, Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangketkaew will join the call to ensure official awareness, emphasizing that this talk is only a briefing and situation update, not a negotiation.
When asked about the military’s assessment of the situation, Anutin briefly replied, “I think it’s good,” and requested the public refrain from analyzing or evaluating military matters as adversaries are monitoring. Regarding reports of soldiers being called to assist Cambodia in combat, he said no such reports have been received.
