Chaiwut, leader of the Rakchat Party, fears politics may enter a deadlock after the Prime Minister dissolved parliament amid the Thai-Cambodian border situation, believing that simultaneous nationwide elections cannot be held.
On 12 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Chaiwut Thanakmanusorn, leader of the Rakchat Party, said following the royal decree dissolving the House of Representatives in 2025 CE, that the political maneuvering by factions wanting constitutional amendments—but failing to achieve their goals—led to a no-confidence debate. It was known that the outcome would be the Prime Minister dissolving parliament amid the Thai-Cambodian border situation. Border provinces cannot hold elections due to unrest and logistical difficulties. These political games will push politics into a deadlock, causing a standstill in Thai politics.
Meanwhile, Chaiwut questioned the Election Commission’s ability to conduct nationwide elections within 60 days, expressing doubt it can be done given the current Thai-Cambodian conflict. He also urged all parliamentary parties involved in constitutional disputes to recognize that their actions are creating new problems for the elections and may cause Thai politics to fall back into previous cycles of instability.
