Army Condemns Cambodia for Firing BM-21 Rockets into Civilian Areas, Two Seriously Injured

The Royal Thai Army strongly condemned Cambodia for firing BM-21 rockets into civilian areas, injuring four people, two of them seriously, and called on the international community to recognize this as a serious violation of international law.

On 13 Dec 2025, the Royal Thai Army received a report from the 2nd Army Region that Cambodia fired BM-21 rockets that landed in a Thai civilian area in front of a shelter bunker in Village No. 1, Saothongchai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province. The incident caused four civilians running to the shelter to be injured by shrapnel, including two who were seriously wounded: Mr. Kaeo Kinnara with a broken right arm, and Mr. Ramphai Suwansilp who suffered a head impact and brain hemorrhage.

The Royal Thai Army coordinated with local authorities and health officials to send the two seriously injured to Benjalak Hospital for treatment. The other two injured, Mr. Komsan Srinuan and Mr. Seri Pathintri, were taken to Srirattana Hospital for care.

The Royal Thai Army issued a statement strongly condemning the actions of Cambodian military forces to the international community. It stated that this incident clearly evidences the use of weapons against civilian areas unrelated to military operations, constituting a serious violation of human rights and international humanitarian law, directly impacting the lives and property of innocent civilians.
