“Abhisit” Visits Injured Soldiers and Disaster Victims in Surin Province, Moved by Thai Solidarity Sending Support to Hat Yai

“Abhisit” led the Democrat Party executive committee team to Surin Province to visit injured soldiers and offer encouragement to residents at the evacuation center, deeply moved by the Thai people's kindness in sending support onward to Hat Yai.

On 13 Dec 2025, Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, leader of the Democrat Party, along with the party's executive committee, traveled to Surin Province to visit and encourage local residents and injured soldiers amid the unrest and border conflicts in the area.

After visiting hospitals and several disaster relief centers, Mr. Abhisit revealed that during his time in the area, he was determined to bring “the encouragement of fellow countrymen across the nation” to the people of Surin. He found that those at the shelters still face long-term challenges and that new evacuees continue to arrive. However, everyone has been receiving excellent assistance and support from government agencies, volunteers, and all officials. Even the injured soldiers maintain strong morale.

“Most importantly, I experienced the kindness of Thai people. The locals here asked me to send their encouragement to the people of Hat Yai, who still need to restore their homes after the recent disaster.”

Mr. Abhisit added that these sentiments should inspire all Thais facing crises and reflect the mental resilience of Thai people who do not abandon one another.

At the same time, Mr. Abhisit invited remaining Thai citizens to assist those struggling in Surin by donating daily necessities or supporting food supplies through the relevant government agencies to help the people of Surin overcome this crisis successfully.
