Anutin confirmed that there have been no ceasefire negotiations and that it is not yet time for such talks, following Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's post stating that Thailand and Cambodia would begin a ceasefire process tonight. He questioned how a ceasefire could be possible given ongoing explosions in civilian areas.
On 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, after attending the royal funeral ceremony for Sergeant Major Satthawat Sujarit, a Thai military hero who sacrificed his life in the Thai-Cambodian border incident, at Phrompitakwanaram Temple, Roi Et Province, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul was interviewed regarding Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's post stating that at 22:00 tonight, Thailand and Cambodia would commence a ceasefire process.
The Prime Minister said he was not aware of this and suspected it was a misunderstanding, noting that there is currently a lot of communication in circulation. He expressed a preference to hear official statements from the military at two specific times, emphasizing that there have been no ceasefire negotiations and that it is not yet time for that. When asked about the explosions in the Bumisrol village, Saothongchai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, the Prime Minister responded, “Exactly. How can we possibly stop shooting under those circumstances?”
