The Thai military has announced 100% control over "Hill 500 - Huai Bon Base," discovering key evidence from Cambodian soldiers marking coordinates of buried mines. The Air Force is ready to destroy targets immediately if PHL-03 rocket launchers are detected in the area.
At 16:00 on 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the joint Thai-Cambodian border situation press center, Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, updated the border situation. He said Thai forces have fully secured key areas including Hill 500 and Huai Bon Base, achieving 75% control of Chong An Ma area in Ubon Ratchathani province, as well as the important Hill 677.
The Ministry of Defence spokesperson addressed reports of Cambodian troop movements of PHL-03 rocket launchers, saying no such reports have been received. However, he assured that if detected, the Thai military will immediately act against the targets without waiting for Cambodia to initiate operations. The Air Force is fully prepared to strike such targets.
Lieutenant Colonel Nucharawee Jamjamrat, deputy spokesperson for the Army, said that during operations at Hill 677 in Chong An Ma, Thai soldiers secured the area and seized several items, including eight mobile phones, RPG grenades, bullets, and rockets. The most important evidence was a Cambodian soldiers’ operational logbook detailing locations and coordinates of landmines and improvised explosive devices. This evidence has been collected and forwarded to relevant agencies, and will be shared with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to expand efforts and publicly confirm that Cambodia continues to use landmines to kill, violating treaties and harming Thai soldiers.
Meanwhile, Commander Nara Khunthom, assistant spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, announced the launch of the "Prachuap Khiri Khan - Prachantakhiri" operation to counter maritime threats. A special task force has been established to patrol the Gulf of Thailand to locate and destroy Cambodian military positions and naval forces, aiming to reduce the supply of military resources to Cambodia. This morning, the navy conducted operations on Koh Yor in Koh Kong province, finding 130mm artillery guns with firing range covering communities including Ban Hat Lek in Trat province.
Malatee Nalida Andamo, deputy spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, clarified the situation of Thai nationals stranded at the Poi Pet checkpoint. Before 13:00, Cambodia allowed Thai people to leave, but minutes later permission was postponed, forcing those who had left the building to return inside, which is concerning. However, Thai nationals wishing to depart immediately can use alternative routes such as traveling to Siem Reap and flying home, with the consulate providing support. So far, over 350 of more than 600 registered Thai nationals have departed by air.
