“Theng Natthapong” Vows to Fight if Next Election Victory Is Undermined

The leader of the People's Party declared he is willing to be seen as foolish and naive in order to improve politics. He insisted that if the party wins more than half the seats in the next election but is then undermined, it will be time to fight back.

On 13 Dec 2025 GMT+7, at the lawn of Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit campus, the People's Party (Pop.) held a "People's Party Picnic Meeting the People" event. Mr. Natthapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, stated that the obstacles holding the country back come from a small group of people. The way to overcome these obstacles is through the voice of all citizens. If in the next election the party receives the majority of votes and wins more than half the seats in the House, there is no reason anything would prevent them from making change.

“If in the next election the party wins more than half the seats but is still blocked and kicked down so we cannot form a government, then it will be time to join arms and stand in front of the parliament. If it comes to that point, there is no other way; we must fight,” he said. The leader of the People's Party confirmed that the party has prepared three prime ministerial candidates and believes no one will be able to use the situation to justify a coup d'état anymore.

He emphasized that the next election will no longer involve the Senate’s power and will be accompanied by a referendum. The party will campaign vigorously to use the people's voice to pressure the Senate. Whenever the next election creates such an environment, he believes the country's clock will move forward. The party is the last hope for the country. We are ready to engage in straightforward politics, even if seen as naive, and we are willing to be considered foolish to improve politics.
