Thailand Fully Controls Prasat Kna Estimated 221 Cambodian Soldiers Killed

The Deputy Army Spokesperson confirmed that Thailand has fully controlled the Prasat Kna area, denouncing Cambodia for using the ancient site as a military base, a clear violation of international principles. It is estimated that 221 Cambodian soldiers have died.

On 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at the Joint Press Center for the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation, Colonel Richa Suksuwan, Deputy Army Spokesperson, stated that the overall operation in the green zone areas already under our control remains unchanged. We are expanding our efforts in the controlled target areas.

The Prasat Kna area is now fully and securely controlled. Additionally, evidence was found at Prasat Kna showing an ancient wall in the background and dug trenches used as shelters, indicating Cambodia's occupation of Thai land around the ancient site. This is a serious breach of international norms. We have worked hard to reclaim this area, which has now been achieved. These images clearly confirm Cambodia's use of the ancient site as a military base.

He also estimated Cambodian losses from the beginning of the operation to date, covering both the 1st and 2nd Army Regions, as follows:

- 51 strongholds and military bases

- 1 BM 21 rocket system

- 10 tanks

- 9 armored vehicles/combat vehicles

- 4 anti-aircraft artillery systems

- 7 artillery guns/cannons

- 5 anti-drone units

- 68 drones

- 3 communication towers

- 221 Cambodian soldiers killed

The Army maintains two main objectives: to restore the encroached border and to destroy Cambodia's military capabilities, which have clearly attacked and posed threats to both military personnel and civilians, eliminating their forces, military equipment, bases, and supporting infrastructure.
