Peerapun Urges Government to Strictly Punish Illegal Exporters of Key Military Supplies to Cambodia

Peerapun urges the government to take decisive action to urgently ban the export of "key military supplies" to Cambodia and to thoroughly investigate all channels. He previously proposed to the former Cabinet to strongly order heavy punishment for those smuggling these supplies.

On 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Peerapun Salirathavibhaga, leader of the United Thai Nation Party (UTNP), commented on the case revealed on the Facebook page of "Decha Naru-narat" regarding growing public scrutiny and criticism over the illegal export of oil from Thailand to Cambodia. He stated it is an urgent necessity for the current government to take responsibility by establishing a monitoring system and banning the export of critical national resources. When he served as Energy Minister before the government change, clear measures were taken to prevent resource leakage.

"While I was Minister of Energy before the government changed, I proposed to the Cabinet to halt oil and electricity exports to Cambodia. Although this issue was presented to the Cabinet, the current status of this resolution remains unclear. I have not yet seen any update on whether it has changed. From my current checks, there is no direct export to Cambodia, but some have speculated that exports are being routed indirectly through Singapore. I am currently seeking ways to investigate customs channels and other routes," said Peerapun.

Peerapun further called on the current government to take responsibility and seriously address this issue. He emphasized the importance of applying strict legal measures. In fact, in situations like this, the government should establish a system to monitor and ban the export of oil, electricity, internet services, and all strategic resources to Cambodia, both directly and indirectly, and must find legal channels to impose heavy penalties on offenders.
