Nattapong Emphasizes Strategy to Turn Confidence into Trust, Prepares to Launch National Leadership Team

Nattapong participated in the People's Party labor wing's general meeting, calling for attention to the Social Security Board election. He emphasized a strategy to transform confidence into trust, preparing to unveil the national executive team and expressing confidence in winning the people's hearts.

On 14 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at Maple Hotel, Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, leader of the People's Party, gave a lecture and exchanged views with members of the party's labor network, addressing the political situation with an upcoming election.

Mr. Nattapong said that in yesterday’s (13 Dec) public apology event, although many party supporters expressed understanding of the party's reasoning, he believes it is the duty and responsibility of party leadership to listen to the feelings of all party owners. While the People's Party allowed members to express opinions, with about 70-80% agreeing with the party's decisions, around 30% held differing views.

Therefore, as a mass party, it is necessary to show responsibility to all members. The party does not base decisions solely on majority rule, because if so, the mass party would gradually shrink. Future decisions will be challenging. Thus, a growing mass party must decide collectively, respect the majority while listening to the minority, and show responsibility to all groups who jointly own the party.

Mr. Nattapong added that over the past two years, the People's Party has reached this point—winning elections but being held back by Senate opposition. Pita did not become prime minister, and even the memorandum of agreement (MOA) has raised doubts for some about being deceived. He sees this as the political working method the party intended. Their collective efforts have achieved many successes, including the Labor Protection Act covering maternity leave rights, a joint accomplishment of everyone present. Many other initiatives have also been successfully pushed. Next year, the party will continue efforts on a 40-hour workweek, two-day weekends, and other rights that everyone must help promote.

Regarding the Social Security Board, as everyone knows from recent news, there are suspicions about a new board election. Suddenly, regulations have been issued excluding employer and insured representatives, instead placing civil servants in full control. This is something everyone must watch closely. The progressive Social Security team has achieved many successes, such as expanding childcare and unemployment benefits. Much work has been done behind the scenes, away from the news. This kind of politics, focused on public benefit, will be the foundation that leads people to ultimately choose the People's Party in the election.

Mr. Nattapong continued that according to popularity surveys, the largest group of voters remains undecided. Given the challenges facing the People's Party—from Thai-Cambodian conflicts, the MOA issue, and others—it is not surprising that polls show this trend. However, when comparing all parties' numbers, the People's Party still has the largest base. This reflects sustained support from those who have closely observed the party's work over six years. It is a result of collective effort, earning public trust that the party truly works for the majority of the country, with this base growing larger every day.
