Peerapun Saleerathwipak urged the government to enforce strict measures to decisively cut off military supply routes to Cambodia, intensify inspections against smuggling of electricity and internet signals, and warned that aiding the enemy will result in severe criminal penalties.
On 15 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Peerapun Saleerathwipak, leader of the United Thai Nation Party and former Energy Minister, expressed his views on the fighting along the Thailand-Cambodia border, supporting government measures to “cut off military supply routes” to Cambodia decisively.
Peerapun confirmed his agreement with the military’s recent order to close the Gulf of Thailand and other routes to block military supplies, especially oil, to Cambodia. He noted this aligns with his long-standing proposal and his prior social media responses emphasizing the necessity to sever all oil and military supply routes into Cambodia.
Peerapun pointed out that beyond oil, another key issue is electricity. He recalled that the previous Cabinet resolved to end electricity sales and transmission to Cambodia, and stressed the need to verify whether the Provincial Electricity Authority has complied. He also emphasized that internet signal transmissions must be strictly monitored to prevent smuggling, and law enforcement must be decisive with clear penalties.
Peerapun stressed that all actions require strict inspection and enforcement, especially regarding assistance to the opposing side. “We must consider the sending of military supplies as aiding the enemy of the country, which is a serious offense under criminal law,” he said.
