Reserve senators have submitted a letter demanding progress on the senator collusion case, hoping the new Election Commission (EC) chairman will expedite a fair resolution. They also call for an assessment of Sa-wang's performance, citing a lack of demonstrable achievements.
On 15 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Akkharawat Pongthanachalitkul, a reserve senator, submitted a letter to Mr. Narong Klawnwarin, the EC chairman, to inquire about the progress of the investigation into the senator collusion case. Mr. Akkharawat stated that he and other reserve senators are concerned about the integrity of the current EC's work and wished to congratulate the new EC chairman on assuming office, expressing hope that he would carry out his duties with honesty.
Mr. Akkharawat continued, noting that one year and five months have passed without any tangible results in the senator collusion case, and questioned when the public could expect to see outcomes. He urged an evaluation of Mr. Sa-wang Boonmee, the EC Secretary-General, on whether he should continue in his position, observing that throughout his tenure, Sa-wang has not produced any notable achievements. He emphasized that it is time for the new EC chairman to appoint a new Secretary-General.
