Prime Minister Says No Need to Explain to UN on Ceasefire Request as BM-21 Rockets Clearly Visible Across Sky

Anutin confirms there is no need to explain to the UN about the ceasefire because the evidence is already clear: Cambodia fired a full salvo of BM-21 rockets across the sky. A National Security Council meeting is being prepared to control munitions.

On 15 December 2025 GMT+7, Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, spoke about the Thai-Cambodian border situation and the United Nations Office's post urging Thailand and Cambodia to cease fire. He affirmed that Thailand is defending its sovereignty and does not need to explain to the UN because “the images are clear: BM-21 rockets came in series, full salvos all over the place. Thailand has never done anything to their country.”

Anutin also said that on 16 December, there will be a National Security Council meeting with an important agenda on controlling and restricting all munitions being sent to Cambodia. When asked about additional measures, he said these are already in effect. Regarding preventing oil transport through Laos to Cambodia, Thailand has closed its side at Chong Mek checkpoint in Ubon Ratchathani. For details, he advised contacting the military and the 2nd Army Region commander, who directly oversee and issue orders on this matter.

When asked about reporting the results of discussions with the Election Commission by Deputy Prime Minister Bowornsak Uuano earlier that morning, Anutin briefly responded, “Not yet. I haven’t met Bowornsak yet.”
