The Election Commission (EC) was lively as members from both small and large parties flocked to submit resignation letters after being disappointed by their absence from the list of prospective parliamentary candidates.
On 15 December 2025, the atmosphere at the Election Commission (EC) office was busy all day with members from various political parties coming to submit their resignation letters. Most planned to join new parties because their original parties had already selected prospective parliamentary candidates for their provinces. This created urgency to secure new party affiliations within the legal timeframe, leaving only 10 days from today.
Political party members submitting resignations today came from Bhumjaithai Party in Udon Thani, Palang Pracharath Party, Thai Local Party, Thai Population Party, New Alternative Party, and Chartthaipattana Party.
One member of the Chartthaipattana Party revealed they decided to resign today because, as a rank-and-file member, they felt they could no longer stay after the party leader, Warawut Silpa-archa, decided to join Bhumjaithai Party.
When asked if they would follow the leader to Bhumjaithai, they said they would not join Bhumjaithai but already had another party in mind to join.
