The candidacy for Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization chief has attracted attention from the first day, with the small-house candidate Pakpian Sin challenging the big-house Wilawan faction. Former MP Kiattikorn and Deputy U Krit have entered the contest.
Reporters cover the registration for the election of the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization chief to fill the vacancy left by Ms. Napaphat Anchasanicham, who was removed from office due to media shareholding issues. A new election must be held within 60 days. Accordingly, the Election Commission of Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization scheduled candidate registration from 15 to 19 December 2025, with the election set for 25 January 2026 GMT+7.
Yesterday (15 Dec) at the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization auditorium, two candidates arrived before 08:30: Mr. Kiattikorn Pakpian Sin at 07:43 and Mr. Krit Kasemphan at 07:55. Since both candidates arrived around the same time, the Election Commission asked them to agree on choosing their candidate numbers either by mutual decision or by drawing lots. Both agreed to draw lots, resulting in Mr. Krit Kasemphan drawing number 2 first, and Mr. Kiattikorn Pakpian Sin receiving number 1.
After completing their registration, supporters presented flowers and garlands to Mr. Krit Kasemphan, while Mr. Kiattikorn Pakpian Sin left with his wife without any supporters present. It is expected that an additional two to three candidates will join the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization chief election.
Mr. Kiattikorn, also known as “MP Rang,” is a former Prachinburi MP from the Matchimathipatai Party (the election was held after Mr. Sunthorn Wilawan was disqualified). He later joined the Democrat Party in 2008 as a Prachinburi MP. Previously, he served as a Prachinburi Provincial Councillor and Deputy Chief of the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization. Mr. Krit, nicknamed “Deputy U,” previously served as Deputy Chief of the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization during Mr. Sunthorn Wilawan’s tenure as chief. He graduated from the 35th class of the Armed Forces Preparatory School and the 51st class of the Royal Police Cadet Academy.
