Narumon is set to introduce the 'Chalermchai' group joining the Kla Tham Party this afternoon, acknowledging it will strengthen the South, and endorses Lt. Col. Thammanat as the top prime ministerial candidate.
At 09:50 on 16 Dec 2025 at Government House, Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education and leader of the Kla Tham Party (KTP), commented on the Chalermchai Sri-on group, former leader of the Democrat Party, preparing to bring former MPs and members to join KTP today. She confirmed the Chalermchai group will register today, though the exact number is to be seen by noon. She added that invitations were extended to all parties, but today will only see the launch of Chalermchai's group first.
Asked whether gaining the Chalermchai group as members would strengthen the party in the South, Ms. Narumon said definitely, and also in other regions. She noted new members will keep joining gradually with announcements to follow. She added that once the Election Commission opens registrations, clarity will increase.
Regarding whether the increase in members means aiming for more MPs, Ms. Narumon said the numbers will likely remain similar to the last election. On announcing the Kla Tham Party's prime ministerial candidate, she said no discussions have occurred yet. However, Lt. Col. Thammanat Prompao, party advisory chairman, will certainly be the number one prime ministerial candidate. As for whether she herself will run, no talks have happened. On whether the party will field a full slate of three PM candidates to prevent political mishaps, she said it is not a serious issue and decisions will be based on appropriateness.
