Suchart Boasts Bhumjaithais Goal of 150-200 MPs, Comparing Party to the Mekong River Where All Tributaries Converge

Suchart reveals managing nearly 20 election candidates, adding Chanthaburi and Trat, praises Anutin for delivering on promises, likens Bhumjaithai to the Mekong River where all tributaries converge, boasting a target of 150-200 MPs.

At 10:00 a.m. on 16 Dec at the Government House, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, and a Bhumjaithai party leader, spoke about readiness for nominating MPs. He said some constituencies overlap, so some candidates decided to join other parties. He is primarily responsible for Chonburi province, plus three constituencies in Chanthaburi and one in Trat, overseeing almost 20 candidates. The party’s management divides responsibilities based on expertise. In the western zone, several party leaders oversee areas, combining like puzzle pieces.

He stated he does not regard anyone as belonging to a faction but focuses on achieving the best results according to goals. When elections come, everyone must be ready. All candidates are prepared now. He thanked the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party (RTSC) for opportunities previously and said joining a new party is normal in politics, with people moving in and out depending on comfort and timing. He emphasized there is no problem with the former party, showing proper courtesy.

Mr. Suchart said regarding election strategy linked to policy, Bhumjaithai’s "say and do" approach is clear. The media has seen in just over two months since Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul became party leader and Deputy Prime Minister, policies like "Khon La Khrueng Plus" and others have been implemented. The recent administration has delivered quickly and effectively without theatrics. Anything beneficial to the public is acted on promptly by the Prime Minister, with full Cabinet support.

He added that the upcoming election will prove to the public which party delivers tangible results rather than empty promises. He noted that he and others have switched parties according to circumstances but have managed each time because the public can perceive the difference. At election time, voters experience firsthand who is reliable. Representatives are chosen to serve the people, not to use them. Representatives must serve the public.

When asked if there is a chance to reach 200 seats, Mr. Suchart replied that every party desires such a number.

Asked if he expects Bhumjaithai to win more than 150 seats after the election, Mr. Suchart said that is the expectation because small rivers joining together can form a large river. Politically, small streams cannot become a large river unless they unite. Naturally, large rivers like the Mekong form from many tributaries converging. You cannot dig a canal to make a river large; it takes over 20 years. Whether it succeeds, he is unsure.
