Ministry of Interior Reaffirms Readiness to Manage Shelters, Property, and Livestock to Assure Border Residents

The Ministry of Interior emphasizes full readiness to protect the rear areas, manage shelters and property, and deploy the Department of Livestock Development to care for animals, thereby assuring border residents.

On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Chairat Kaewpiangphen, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Ministry of Interior, explained the operations to safeguard rear areas and to care for the lives and property of residents affected by the border situation.

He confirmed that the Ministry of Interior has been implementing the plan continuously, especially managing temporary shelters. Initially, there were over 1,000 shelters housing more than 250,000 people. Although early challenges arose, provinces, districts, and local administrative organizations have collaborated closely to resolve issues and improve management.

The Deputy Director-General emphasized that the Ministry of Interior is fully prepared to provide care. If residents encounter problems or difficulties, they can report directly to shelter directors, district chiefs, or provincial governors in their areas.

In addition, attention has been given to concerns about livestock and animals left behind during evacuation. Provinces and districts have coordinated with the Department of Livestock Development to systematically prepare animal feed and distribute assistance through village headmen, community leaders, volunteers, and local security units.

Meanwhile, regarding residents' homes and property, volunteers, the Community Security Volunteers (Chor Ror Bor), police, and related agencies have planned patrols to ensure safety, prevent incidents, and maintain order in the area.

Mr. Chairat affirmed that the Ministry of Interior will continue managing shelters and safeguarding the lives and property of residents with full effort, while requesting cooperation from all sectors of the public to overcome this situation together with strength and peace.
