Yoschanan presented his vision to lead the country out of crisis by emphasizing economic and technological restructuring to ensure all Thais have equal opportunities. He expressed confidence that Pheu Thai can achieve this.
On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Yoschanan Wongsawat, the nominated prime minister candidate from the Pheu Thai Party, shared his vision. He said his life reflects many Thais who grew up in families of civil servants and nurses, moving across provinces and attending provincial boarding schools. He was taught that knowledge and diligence are the paths to change life. Thailand recovered from the major economic crisis in 1997 because of the belief that Thais can succeed, similar to the Thai Rak Thai Party's past policies that transformed people's lives and helped resolve the crisis. However, repeated injustices have persisted, and now in 2025, Thailand faces a perfect storm of economic challenges, geopolitics, climate change, and technological transition. The Pheu Thai prime ministers have tried their best to address these issues, despite political instability causing annual changes in prime ministers. Given what has been achieved, the former Pheu Thai leaders deserve credit. Looking ahead, if today we choose innovation, restructure the economy and technology, and use Thai creativity, a better future for Thailand is possible.
Setting a goal to raise income levels as quickly as possible.
Mr. Yoschanan stated that as the Pheu Thai Party’s prime minister candidate, he will lead Thailand out of its current crises. The goal is to elevate Thailand to a high-income country as quickly as possible, focusing on science, technology, and AI. Key strategies include enhancing the efficiency of the existing economy with modern technology in agriculture, manufacturing, and services, alongside creating new economic engines by combining local potential with advanced technology. This includes addressing climate change transitions, industrial production, and improving health and quality of life.
Ensuring all Thais have equal opportunities.
Mr. Yoschanan said the government must also adapt to support a high-value economy, advancing in three areas: 1. Building comprehensive security—military, cybersecurity, food and energy security, and climate change response—alongside diplomacy that balances Thailand’s interests; 2. Restoring public trust through upholding the rule of law, delivering justice, implementing digital government for transparency and anti-corruption, and AI transformation for a one-stop government service system; 3. Establishing modern infrastructure foundations including transportation, logistics, AI-powered security, digital infrastructure, clean energy, welfare, education, research, and innovation to support both new and existing economies. Preparing people to align with this new economic foundation is crucial. All Thais, regardless of location, must have equal growth opportunities. This effort is not for any political party but to create change centered on the people.
This journey is not just for the Pheu Thai Party but for all of us to help rebuild the country once again. “Today, everyone from the Thai Rak Thai Party who was denied justice is returning to our home, joined by the younger generation and Pheu Thai members. We are confident we can do it, starting right now, this moment, to revamp Thailand. If Pheu Thai can do it, Thailand definitely can.”
