Pheu Thai unveiled three prime ministerial candidates, highlighting Yotsanan Wongsawat as number one, leading an AI-driven campaign to rescue the economy, confident of winning 200 seats by overcoming bullets and state power.
On 16 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Pheu Thai leaders, including Julaphan Amornwiwat, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Yotsanan Wongsawat, held a press conference following the announcement of the three prime ministerial candidates. Julaphan Amornwiwat, party leader, clearly stated that if the party wins the election, they will nominate Yotsanan Wongsawat as prime minister due to his qualifications in integrating modern technology (AI) with the economy to lead the country out of conflict.
The Pheu Thai leader also said Yotsanan will be the first candidate, Suriya Juangroongruangkit, the party's election director, will be second, and he himself will be third. What will make Pheu Thai victorious are its policies, people, and determination. We believe 10 million people are ready to support us through state power and gunfire. He expressed confidence that with two months remaining, Yotsanan has enough time to communicate the "Revamp Pheu Thai" policy to the public, similar to when Yingluck Shinawatra won overwhelmingly after just over 40 days.
Regarding perceptions that the prime ministerial candidate inevitably comes from the "Shinawatra-Wongsawat" family, Yotsanan said this is an advantage and a distinguishing feature, likening it to standing on the shoulders of giants combining old-generation experience with new-generation innovation. He emphasized that his mother, Yaowapa Wongsawat, will not interfere in decision-making.
Meanwhile, Suriya Juangroongruangkit is confident the party will achieve close to 200 seats, despite some MPs defecting. He believes that policies resonating with the public will overcome the "bullet" tide.
