The Cabinet has approved an emergency budget of 2.4 billion baht for the Army and Navy to counter hostile forces at the border and to support troop morale.
On 16 December 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed after the Cabinet meeting that the Cabinet agreed to release emergency funds at the Ministry of Defence’s request. The Ministry requested additional budget for fiscal year 2026 to cover expenses related to the situation on the eastern Thai-Cambodian border. This request came specifically from the Army and Navy.
The spokesperson added that the government is pleased to support by approving 2,444,061,516 baht. Specific details cannot be disclosed, but the funds will be used to maintain the morale of military personnel so they can effectively respond to hostile forces in emergencies.
