
The Prime Minister has instructed all ministers not to use any official powers or state resources to influence the election after the royal decree dissolving the parliament was issued.
On 16 December 2025, Siripong Angkasukolkit, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, informed the Cabinet meeting that the royal decree dissolving the House of Representatives was issued on 12 December 2025. Therefore, in carrying out Cabinet duties, discussions must be held about what actions are permissible. The Prime Minister emphasized to all Cabinet members that in their conduct,it mustcomply with the rules. They are prohibited from using any official powers to influence the election or from using state resources to benefit the election. If ministers or political officeholders wish to campaign in local areas, they must do so outside official working hours or take proper leave.
Additionally, the Secretary-General of the Cabinet mentioned that the government will continue to carry out state administration but will no longer be referred to as 'caretaker.' The government will maintain its duties until a new government is formed. In any state administration,onlynecessary actions should be taken, ensuring no binding commitments for the incoming government. Any budget expenditure requests must also be approved by the Election Commission.
