
"Phiphat" sets a target for MPs in the South of no less than 30 districts, sharply criticizing 30 years of lost development opportunities likened to a forgotten region, revealing plans to include the Hat Yai ring road project for the next government.
On 16 December 2025 atthe headquartersof the Bhumjaithai Party, Mr. Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, asa leaderof the Bhumjaithai Party in the South, together with Mr. Naphinthorn Srisanpang, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and fellow party leader, officially introduced the prospective candidates for Member of the House of Representatives (MPs) from Prachuap Khiri Khan and Pattani provinces, and presented Bhumjaithai Party shirts to Mr. Sangkhom Daengchoti, the candidatefor MPof Prachuap Khiri Khan District 1, Mr. Amnuay Sudkrasae for District 2, and Mr. Pongpan Paoprathan for District 3, who is the son of Mr. Swap Paoprathan, formerMPof Prachuap Khiri Khan from Bhumjaithai Party. Additionally, there is Mr. Arinchai Susarao from Pattani District 4.
Mr. Phiphat said that he and Mr. Naphinthorn have been assigned to oversee areas covering from Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, and 14 other southern provinces, totaling about 18 provinces. Currently, 95% of candidates have been selected, and it is expected that all districts in every province will have candidates within this week. He emphasized their full commitment to working for the Bhumjaithai Party, aiming to restore lost opportunities over the past 30 years for people in the western and southern regions, which have been like forgotten areas.
Mr. Phiphat added that Phuket province ranks second in tourism revenue after Bangkok, but logistics development has been considerably neglected. Therefore, he is determined to implement Bhumjaithai Party policies to develop the South in many aspects to be on par with the central, northeastern, and northern regions.
"We want no less than 30 MPs, and we are quite confident that since we currently have 27 MPs, adding Phetchaburi will bring the total to about 30 districts. We must strive to maintain our base, reclaim all our existing MPs, and bring in new younger MPs. Our slogan is 'say and do.' We must fulfill what we, or our MPs, in each district and province, promise to the people." ." Mr. Phiphat said, as Minister of Transport, he reflected on Hat Yai city, stating that in the future there will be a ring road serving as the best flood barrier. " ."."
