The government reminds more than 14 million beneficiaries of the “Khon La Khrueng Plus” program to use their benefits by 31 December, and invites participating “Money Bag” stores in the program to complete their skill development by 19 December.
On 17 December 2025, Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, reported on the spending progress of the first phase of the Khon La Khrueng Plus program. He said the program continues to receive positive responses from both the public and participating merchants. The government urges the more than 14 million beneficiaries who have not yet used their full entitlement to do so before 31 December, because once the program ends, any remaining credit will be automatically deducted. Citizens are encouraged to take advantage of this final period to maximize benefits and help stimulate the economy at year-end.
Regarding merchant development, 93,881 stores participating in the Khon La Khrueng Plus program have completed upskilling and reskilling. The Ministry of Finance will allow merchants to continue their skill development until 19 December only. The government invites merchants to participate in training to enhance their business capabilities. Up to the first 400,000 merchants who meet the criteria and complete the skill development will receive government support equal to 20% of sales generated from the government’s co-payment portion of the Khon La Khrueng Plus program, from the time they complete training until 19 December, with a maximum payment of 2,000 baht per merchant.
Mr. Siripong added that merchants participating in the Khon La Khrueng Plus program can choose to develop financial and digital skills through one of three channels:
1. Register as a merchant on a food delivery service platform (Grab, Lineman, Robinhood, ShopeeFood). Participating food and beverage merchants can apply between 19 November and 19 December 2025, provided they have not registered with that platform before. After registration, merchants must link their stores to the platform via the “Money Bag” application and complete at least five food or beverage transactions under the Khon La Khrueng Plus program through the platform without any order cancellations.
2. Participate in and pass the online training course offered by the Government Savings Bank. Merchants must register and complete the financial knowledge development course at www.gsb.or.th, achieving the required scores before and after the course.
3. Participate in and pass the online training course offered by the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce. Merchants must register and complete one of five courses available at DBD Academy via https://dbdacademy.dbd.go.th/, achieving the required scores before and after the course. The Ministry of Finance will announce the list of beneficiaries on 23 December 2025. Merchants who complete skill development will be notified via the “Money Bag” application and SMS. The Ministry will transfer funds to eligible merchants on 25 December 2025.
