Anutin Awaits the Right Moment to Announce Bhumjaithais Prime Ministerial Candidate Sihasak Set to Run for MP

Anutin remains tight-lipped about Bhumjaithai Party's prime ministerial candidate, responding only "soon" as he awaits an auspicious moment for the announcement. Meanwhile, Sihasak has clearly joined the party, taken photos, and is set to run for MP.

On 17 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, spoke about the party's prime ministerial candidates, who remain Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, and Minister of Commerce Ms. Supachai Suthamphan. When asked if they had accepted the nomination, Mr. Anutin said, "Soon." When pressed again if Mr. Akniti and Ms. Supachai had agreed, he reiterated, "Soon."

Regarding Foreign Minister Mr. Sihasak Puangketkaew's visit to the Bhumjaithai Party today (17 Dec), Mr. Anutin said he invited him to discuss issues related to scammers, foreign affairs, and the Thailand-Cambodia border problems. However, the meeting was brief as they had to return to their respective duties.

When asked if Mr. Sihasak was invited to register as an MP candidate, since Mr. Sihasak said he came to take photos, Mr. Anutin replied that coming to take photos was an answer in itself. He added that Mr. Sihasak was not playing politics but serving the country.

Regarding Mr. Sihasak's statement that if he returns to work, he wishes to be Minister of Foreign Affairs again, Mr. Anutin said that politically, they would not make premature comments. Cooperation from all sides is needed, with everyone fully dedicated to serving the country.

On whether Bhumjaithai's delayed announcement of the prime ministerial candidate would put them at a disadvantage compared to other parties, Mr. Anutin said the voting day is the same. The announcement will be made at a favorable and auspicious time. When asked which day that would be, he replied, "The day that is convenient."
