Survey of Thairath Online Readers Shows MOA Strategy Backfires on Prachachon Party, 46% Say They Wont Vote for Them

The survey indicates that the Prachachon Party misplayed their MOA strategy, but firmly concludes that Bhumjaithai clearly broke their promise.

Amid the political turmoil following the failure to amend the constitution, a survey by Thairath Online titled “Did Prachachon Party ‘lose their edge’ or ‘do their best’? Poll on public sentiment after the failed MOA deal with Bhumjaithai” gathered 7,486 respondents and was conducted from 12-17 Dec 2025 GMT+7.

MOA Strategy: A Misstep or the Best Effort?

The survey results reveal that respondents hold distinctly opposing views.

While 31.34% understand and believe the party did their best, the largest group at 32.86% sees it as a strategic misstep. Additionally, 21.89% believe it was a mutually beneficial arrangement, and 13.90% feel that Prachachon was betrayed.

Did Bhumjaithai Break Their Promise or Is This Just Politics?

Looking at the opposing party, Bhumjaithai, the survey asked,“Do you think Bhumjaithai Party violated the MOA terms?”A majority of 45.57% firmly believe they broke the agreement.

However, 35.93% consider it a normal political game, reflecting that many are becoming accustomed to political maneuvering and may see Prachachon as the one who faltered in this contest.

Meanwhile, 18.49% are indifferent to this issue, focusing instead on economic and livelihood concerns.

Warning Signs: MOA Deal's Impact on Prachachon Party's Electability

The most alarming data, a red flag for Prachachon, emerged from the question,“Does the failure to amend the constitution affect your decision to vote for Prachachon Party next time?”

Results show a close split, but those saying they will no longer vote for the party lead with 45.97%, narrowly surpassing the 42.88% who still intend to vote for them.

Additionally, 11.15% are undecided; if the party cannot regain trust, this group may shift to non-supporters, deepening the party’s credibility crisis.

Although an online survey, it clearly shows that the MOA plan between Prachachon and Bhumjaithai not only failed legislatively but also damaged Prachachon’s public image. This presents a tough challenge for the party leaders to urgently reconsider their strategy before the upcoming election, expected soon.
