
Revealing 16 electoral districts in 7 provinces along the Thai-Cambodian border conflict zones, the Election Commission plans to use a special voting method to avoid postponing the 2026 election from 8 February.
On 17 December 2025, reporters received preliminary information that the Election Commission Office has surveyed areas affected by the Thai-Cambodian border conflict and plans to manage the election with a special method on 8 February 2026. This is to prevent the election date from being postponed. The affected areas include 16 electoral districts across 7 provinces, namely:
1. Chanthaburi Province There are 3 electoral districts in total; 1 district is affected: Electoral District 3.
2. Trat Province There is 1 electoral district; 1 district is affected: Electoral District 1.
3. Sa Kaeo Province There are 3 electoral districts in total; 2 districts are affected: Electoral Districts 2 and 3.
4. Buriram Province There are 10 electoral districts in total; 4 districts are affected: Electoral Districts 2, 8, 9, and 10.
5. Surin Province There are 8 electoral districts in total; 3 districts are affected: Electoral Districts 6, 7, and 8.
6. Sisaket Province There are 9 electoral districts in total; 3 districts are affected: Electoral Districts 4, 5, and 6.
7. Ubon Ratchathani Province There are 11 electoral districts in total; 2 districts are affected: Electoral Districts 9 and 10.
